Other tools worth knowing
Claude is still the tool for the work in this hub. Writing, your folder, meetings, skills. This page is a map. Use it when Claude isn't the right first stop, or when a client already lives in another company's apps.
Don't subscribe to all of them. Pick one when you hit the wall it was built for. Names below were checked on each company's own site in October 2026.
All of these tools work the same way, so it's better to go deep on one than try to use them all.
How do they work? The same building blocks every time: prompt, context, connectors, skills, and scheduled tasks. The most important thing is knowing how to ask the right questions. That's Superpower techniques.
Image generation
Claude will describe a picture. It won't reliably make one. For a deck or a page built from your brand files, stay with Claude Design. Use one of these when the deliverable is the image itself.
ChatGPT Images
Good for. A picture you then edit in the same chat, including from a reference photo. OpenAI's current model is ChatGPT Images 2.5: sharper detail, more precise edits, and faster than Images 2.0. It's in ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work, and Codex, on desktop, mobile, and web. You can also sketch a rough layout in the chat and use that as the reference.
Reach for it over Claude when you already have a ChatGPT account and you need the file, not a description.
A square photo of a small office reception, morning light, no people, no text.
Cream walls, one coral chair, a wooden desk. Photoreal, not an illustration.
Wait for me before you change anything.
Gemini (Nano Banana)
Good for. Images inside the Gemini app. Google calls the image tool Nano Banana. Open the tools menu and choose Create images, then type a prompt or upload a photo to edit. Nano Banana is free to try where the Gemini app is available. A Google AI plan unlocks Nano Banana 2.1, which the same page calls its best image model. The page title also says Nano Banana 2. Generated images carry a SynthID watermark, plus a visible watermark.
Reach for it over Claude when you're already in Google and you want a picture next to that account, or a quick edit of a photo you can upload.
Create an image of a one-page leave-behind cover: a quiet photo of a meeting table,
no logos, no words on the image. Warm light. Square.
Grok Imagine
Good for. Images and short video in the same Grok thread, from a text prompt or a reference photo. You restyle and edit with a follow-up, without starting again. On x.ai/grok, Imagine says videos up to 15 seconds.
Reach for it over Claude when you want a still and a short clip from the same prompt, or you're already working in Grok.
A 5-second clip of a kettle boiling on a kitchen counter, natural light,
no people, no logos, no on-screen text. Show me a still first.
Midjourney
Good for. A considered image, made on midjourney.com. You subscribe, open Create, and type in the Imagine bar. Midjourney returns a set of four images. The default model on their docs is V8.2, released 24 July 2026. V8.2 includes Personalization and an Edit model. The same site also generates video. Plans are subscriptions. Check the current price on their plans page. This hub doesn't quote it.
Reach for it over Claude when the look matters more than staying inside the chat you use for writing.

shot on 50mm, shallow depth of field, no text, no logo --v 8.2
Personal AI agents
These take a task and keep working across your apps, including after you close the laptop. Claude with a folder is still where your files and skills live. Use an agent when the job is "go and do the steps", and you will approve anything that sends or spends.
Grok Bot
Good for. Named bots with a job and memory that compounds. Each bot works on a persistent cloud computer (browser, files, and a terminal), so the work continues with the laptop closed. You message, dictate, or talk. It drafts, and you approve before anything is sent. It uses connectors where they exist, and the computer otherwise. All of your bots share one computer, including files and logins. Isolation is between accounts, not between your own bots. Apps: Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone, iPad, and Android. Access is included with paid individual Cursor plans and Cursor Teams, or a linked SuperGrok subscription. Usage resets weekly. You can also start a task by tagging @bot on X, if your X account is linked to Grok. That isn't available in every region.
Reach for it over Claude when the task has to click around other websites and apps on its own computer, and keep running while you're away. If the work is already in a folder you trust Claude with, stay in Claude.
Check my calendar for tomorrow. For each external meeting, draft a three-line
prep note from the last email thread. Leave the drafts for me to approve.
Don't send anything.
Muse
Good for. Meta's personal agent at ai.meta.com/muse. You chat with it in the Muse app on your phone or Mac, or in WhatsApp. The work runs on Muse Secure VM, a persistent isolated Linux computer with a browser you and the agent share. You can step in. Give it a goal. It builds a plan, tracks progress, and keeps going after you close the app. You can connect email, calendar, Instagram, and other apps. If a task needs a tool that doesn't exist, Muse can build one. It asks before it sends a message, makes a purchase, or shares information. You can allow once, always allow, or deny. There's an audit trail. Logins sit in a store the agent can't read. 1Password integration is listed as coming soon. At checkout it can use a one-time card number. Eligible purchases are covered by Link's purchase protection. Conversations are not shared with Meta's ad systems. Muse is free up to a usage limit. A paid upgrade exists. The page doesn't give a price, so this hub doesn't either. The Mac app can work with local files, apps, and browser tabs. There's also Muse for Small Business, a set of skills and connectors.
Reach for it over Claude when you want that background agent in WhatsApp or the Muse app, and you'll approve sends and purchases. Don't use it in place of Claude on client files in your folder.
Look at my calendar for the next five weekdays. List the meetings that have
no agenda in the invite, and draft a one-line question I could send to each
organiser. Don't send any of them.
ChatGPT Work and Codex
The ChatGPT desktop app (Mac and Windows) has Chat and Work under ChatGPT, and Codex as its own view from the top-left menu. Codex history stays separate from ChatGPT history.
OpenAI's marketing page says Work is powered by GPT-6. That's their current name for the model behind it. It isn't a reason to move your writing off Claude.
ChatGPT Work
Good for. Longer, multi-step work that ends as a file: research, analysis, a document, a spreadsheet, a presentation, a report, or a Site. Plan mode gathers context, asks questions, and writes a step-by-step plan. You approve it before the work starts. On the desktop app, Work can use a local folder and desktop apps if your plan allows it and you grant access. On web and mobile, Work runs in the cloud and cannot read files on your computer. Cloud Work chats sync across web, mobile, and desktop. Local chats run on the computer. Messages and task context may still be stored in the cloud.
Reach for it over Claude when the finished file needs to be a PowerPoint, a spreadsheet, or a ChatGPT Site, and the context already sits in ChatGPT. If the files are in your Claude folder, do the work there.
Plan first. Don't start until I approve.
Turn the notes in this folder into a six-slide update: what changed,
what's blocked, and what I need from the room. Use my headings. No new facts.
ChatGPT Work · Help centre: Work and Codex
Codex
Good for. Writing and debugging code: tests, commands, a repository, local folders, terminals, and developer tools. It's a desktop view. You don't select it on the web. Supported desktop Codex chats can be opened from the Remote tab in the ChatGPT mobile app. That does not add them to web or mobile chat history.
Reach for it over Claude when the repo and the team already work in ChatGPT's desktop app. Otherwise the path we teach is Claude Code.
In this repo, find why the build fails on a clean install.
Change only what you must. Show me the diff. Don't push.
Gemini and Gemini Notebook, for Google Workspace
Gemini in the Google apps
Good for. Drafts in the apps a Google client already has open. On an eligible Workspace plan, or a Google AI plan on a personal account, Gemini sits in the side panel of Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, and Chat. Help me write drafts and rewrites mail and Docs. In Drive you can ask it to find and summarise files. Look for Ask Gemini. If it isn't there, the edition or the admin hasn't turned it on.
Reach for it over Claude when the draft has to land in a Google Doc or a Gmail thread, and copying it out to Claude would only mean pasting it back.
In this Doc, rewrite the introduction in plain English for a non-technical client.
Keep every number. Don't add claims that aren't already in the Doc.
Gemini Notebook (this was NotebookLM)
Good for. A closed set of sources. Google's notebooklm.google page says NotebookLM became Gemini Notebook in July 2026. Same product. Existing notebooks stayed. You supply the documents. Answers are meant to stay grounded in those sources, which cuts invented detail. From the sources it can make an Audio Overview, a mind map, flashcards, reports, and slide decks. For a work or school account, Google says uploads, questions, and answers are not used to train models. On a personal account, they aren't used for training unless you send feedback.
Reach for it over Claude when the whole job is "only answer from this pile", and you want a notebook you can reopen. Deep Research is for going out to the web. Gemini Notebook is for sources you already have.
Using only the sources in this notebook, list the decisions, who owns each one,
and the date it was made. If a source doesn't say it, write "not in the sources".
Microsoft Copilot, for Microsoft 365
Good for. Work that already lives in Microsoft 365. Microsoft's page calls the product Copilot and says it sits inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, grounded in your work content (their name for that grounding is Work IQ). There are plans for enterprise, business, and individuals. Check the current price on Microsoft's site.
Reach for it over Claude when the document, mailbox, or meeting is already in Microsoft 365 and the client expects the draft to stay there. Bring the thinking back to Claude when you need your folder, skills, and transcripts in one place.
In this Word doc, draft a one-page summary for the client.
Use only what's in the document and the linked deck.
Flag anything you can't see. Don't email it.
Perplexity, for sourced research
Good for. An answer you can click back to. Perplexity's Pro Search help article says it reads across many sources and puts a direct link on the answer, so you can open the page and check it. A citation is a pointer, not proof.
Reach for it over Claude when the useful output is the sources, quickly. Stay with Claude, or with Deep Research, when the brief has to follow your folder and your format.
What changed in UK stamp duty for additional properties in the last 18 months?
Link every factual claim to a primary source, such as gov.uk or the statute.
If sources disagree, say so. Don't smooth it into one number.
How to choose
| Job | Start here |
|---|---|
| The deliverable is a picture | ChatGPT Images, Gemini (Nano Banana), Grok Imagine, or Midjourney |
| Go and do the steps, including while you're away | Grok Bot or Muse. Approve anything that sends or spends |
| A finished Office-style file inside ChatGPT | ChatGPT Work |
